It’s been a minute since…….

Cave guy still scratching and yearning for truth and peace.

So much water under the bridge, in fact different bridge and different water.

I’m hanging with my paintings on Beekman Street in Saratoga Springs – It’s not about taking over the world – it’s about finding a place in the world. A place of your own – not displacing anyone, nor clearing land and building a giant castle.

Just a simple step in a chosen direction that leads to another step then another ……. and all by itself you end up in somewhere else.

This Northern Pike painting was done this spring – simple little 8X10 acrylic – maybe 2 hours – I’m not exactly sure. I paint a lot listening to Albums the entire way through – My favorite lately in Bob Dylan “Blood on the Tracks”: a warm heartache bath with mildly self-absorbed bubbles of disillusion. A sparse landscape that gently rolls in the nether regions of the brain. A gentle emotional sanitation.

But that’s probably just me.

Isn’t that what this blogging stuff is all about.

Cheers and love to you all.

  1. I have always listened to albums all the way through; I think the cassette format as a kid forced me into that direction. I didn’t paint, but I did draw. I would listen to an album, or 2, or 3, and lie on my bed and draw.

    Cheers to you!
